A table view of plate would enable us to display extra details for each well (same as table view for dataset).
However, this will require a fair bit of work!

What is the reason for not supporting a table view for plates? Navigating 384 well plates with microscopic thumbnails is terrible, while a table would be useful in these circumstances.

This isn't really a Bug, so I'm re-naming.

You may also have a look at Agilo extensions to the ticket.
The table view does not support Plates, so this is supposed to be disabled. I suppose we could disable the dropdown itself if there are no options enabled, but I'm not sure if this is standard UI practise?
