BUG: Import failure Quicktime .mov

Description
Using Gretzky (also happened on Warlock)
Tried to import:
squig team>Movies>MoviesFor4_4>elwood-complete>WebDataManagement?-4.4.0.mov
Appeared to complete fine, but dataset is empty. No error messages.
Same happened with different .mov from own HD.

It is disconcerting that there is no indication 1. that it hasn't and 2. why it hasn't imported.
Is there no standard "unsupported format" message that can be triggered?

The relevant exception should probably be in the log, but it is completely expected for that file to not import. QuickTime? for Java would need to be installed on both client and server since we do not support the H.264 codec natively.
