Bug: 2 imports started

Reported by: jburel Owned by: jburel
Priority: blocker Milestone: OMERO-4.4.7
Component: Insight Version: n.a.

Sprint: 2012-11-20 (2)

Description

Two imports performed, the second started while the first was in progress. When the second import started, the spinner in the first tab did not start spinning. The spinner of the second tab stopped once the import was complete. The spinner of the first tab then stopped a few minutes later. I expected the first spinner to stop prior to the second import starting.

The more serious issue here was that the images imported in the first tab were imported into three separate datasets (using "new from folder"). However, each dataset was duplicated, so I ended up with six datasets with duplicated contents. i.e. the dataset names were "gif", "gif", "ome-tiff", "ome-tiff", "png", "png".

Note that I did not import into a project.

Gus: could you indicate what you did? i.e. folder selection, images, how many etc so I can reproduce it.
Thanks

Jean-Marie - I don't think this was me - I had a different issue.

I cannot reproduce the error. Roger could you try again?

Reproducable/ To test

  • if you start by importing datasets (e.g. png/gif/bmp/jpeg),
  • and then while then are importing, import plates e.g. cellomics.

What I see is that the plate starts importing (and fails) while the existing import is going. See attached screenshot--you see that the plate import failed while the dataset import was still in progress. And then the connection got terminated.
