Bug: Progress bar never completes when opening image

Description
On Linux, the insight viewer displays an "opening image" progress bar (attached). However, this never completes loading, with the image showing only the thumbnail. However, clicking in the main image window makes this disappear and the image tiles are then loaded into the image window. The "progress" bar looks a bit non-functional here.

Note that this is not Linux-specific. This was also seen on a Mac by Emma.

I also see this bug with canon .cr2 files - also tiled "big" images (in Insight on Mac 10.6.8). Seems to load immediately in web though.

This only appears to be an issue with "big" images (with pyramids?). Smaller images load immediately (including large images with multiple timepoints).
