Description (last modified by crueden-x)
When attempting to save image data of an unsupported pixel type, the IFormatWriter API throws FormatException? indicating so. Currently, the Bio-Formats Exporter plugin passes this exception straight to the ImageJ Log window, rather than wrapping it in a nice error message dialog.
Ideally, it would prompt to convert the image to a type supported by the relevant exporter. For example, when saving as QuickTime?, prompt to convert uint16 data to uint8 rather than simply failing.
