Webservice API should allow use of silo & table names instead of IDs

Description

Feedback from Andy Judson suggested that researchers & data managers will prefer to work with their silos & data-sets using data-set\silo names rather than dataset\silo ID numbers.

The webservice API should enable users to do this as follows, for the dataset mar10_scidc & the table mar10_267_scidc_amputations_sample:

  • To view the list of tables in the dataset:
    • /websilo/view/mar10_scidc
  • To view a specific table in the dataset:
    • /websilo/view/mar10_scidc/mar10_267_scidc_amputations_sample

NB. This assumes that table names are unique, at least, within a single silo. If there are more than one tables or silos with a given name then a couple of approaches can be taken:

  • a list could be displayed allowing the user to select a unique table or silo
  • the first table or silo with that name could be displayed
  • a message could be displayed indicating that there was more than one table or silo which could be displayed (least favoured alternative)
