Description (last modified by ajpatterson)
Should this be linked to an ontology?
Can it be moved from the model to an annotation?

Images should include have a spot to record image type: phase-contrast microscopy, PET, MRI, etc. It would be nice if BioFormats could fill this in automatically on converted images, as long as the file type accommodated that use. I suppose eventually it would be nice to expand schema support more completely for other kinds of imaging.

Add a top level broad category for type (like EM, MRI, Light)?

Jean-Marie raise the question if this was necessary to add this as there is the experiment type that could be used. That has the following possible values:
I think the idea of this new value is to provide a much higher level description. The possible values might be:
The other option would be to expand the experiment type a lot to include the subtypes of the other imaging formats, e.g. X-Ray types might include
The description in the ticket is a bit unclear.
