Images Tab does not work well for large number of images so cannot really be used.
It will good to be able to combine history (of import, etc) + calendar + images tab into one ueber-panel. A zest of something like the trac timeline might be good to add

Investigation required.

Outstanding work to be scheduled after 4.3 release.
This will continue to be ongoing work but will need a design review once the collection of ideas have been gathered.

Given the discussion in the usability meeting on the 12th Jan 2012 the direction of the work will now look forward to incorporating a broader scope within the context of searching. Which the calendar work already indirectly part of but could be made more powerful with the full integration of metadata searching.

The other point that will be taken into account is in exploring conceptually how the metadata can be searched so a scientist/microscope manager might search the data and how this might help inform the infrastructure for searching.
