BUG: OOM in inight viewing large images

Description
Insight set for -Xms256M -Xmx512M. Imported some large sis files (these are now located in test_images_good). The images imported fine, and were viewable .. I clicked on several of them, looked around the viewing pane, maximized the windows. Then after I had opened about 5 or so, the 6th one (which I had already opened previously), produced an 'out of memory' error and popped up a dialog box saying the image could not be rendered.
Not sure there is much to be done about this as it may be a VM issue not garbage collecting.
