The current strategy returns value that could be misleading
The case of multi-images files also needs to be handled.

The current state of time estimation can be seen on https://github.com/bpindelski/openmicroscopy/commits/eta-improvements. Making it work for a MIF will necessitate storing state in a separate class (TimeEstimator?), so that the object of that class can be passed in to ImportLibrary.uploadFile(). That method is currently the only one returning an event (ImportEvent.FILE_UPLOAD_BYTES) often enough so that the UI can update the ETA. Wrt. MIFs the total time can be persisted as the state of the TimeEstimator? object between calls to uploadFile().
To achieve smoother time values (i.e. no jumps between extreme values), a different strategy for the moving avarage has to be used (bigger/smaller number of samples? Less aggressive alpha calculation?).
